COST FOR THIS TREK:

All our holidays are tailor-made so the ultimate cost of each trek is based upon:

  • The number of people in your group
  • Where you are starting from and to where you wish to travel at the end of the hike;
  • Whether you are including any accommodation (e.g. in Imlil or Marrakech)
  • Extras such as WC tent, etc.

MEALS ARE NORMALLY:

  • Breakfast – tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam, cheese plus porridge in the winter and cereal in summer.
  • Picnic lunch – fresh Moroccan salad, cheese, slicing sausage, tinned tuna fish and sardines, bread, fruit, mint tea.
  • Dinner – Tajine (chicken or mutton with vegetables), spaghetti, couscous (main courses rotate depending on the duration of the trek), bread, coffee, tea, cake, fruit.

  • Good walking boots and socks / good trainers for valley treks
  • Personnel First-aid Kit
  • 3 to 4 season sleeping bag ( winter) or light Sleeping bag ( Summer)
  • Crampons, Ice axes, and Gaiters for Winter treks ( Nov to April )
  • Lightweight waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
  • Water bottle or camelback (recommended)
  • Soft-sided bag (50-80 liters)

Marrakech – Imlil 1740m – Tamatert Village –Tizi n’Tidli pass 2200m– Aroumd village 2000m.

  • Morning: Depart from Marrakech early in the morning At 8:30 with Our driver to Imlil, the starting point of your trek. It’s approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Marrakech to Imlil.
  • Mid-Morning: Arrive in Imlil, meet your guide, and start your trek towards Aroumd village. Enjoy the scenic views of the Atlas Mountains, passing through Berber villages along the way.
  • Lunch: Stop for a picnic lunch en route, enjoying the beautiful landscapes surrounding you.
  • Afternoon: Continue your trek, passing through lush valleys and terraced fields. Take in the tranquility of the mountains and immerse yourself in the local Berber culture.
  • Late Afternoon: Arrive at Aroumd village, where you’ll spend the night. Take some time to explore the village, interact with locals, and learn about their way of life.
  • Evening: Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner prepared by your hosts and relax at your accommodation for the night. Around 5h walk.

Day 2: Villages Aroumd 2000m – Tizi Mzik pass 2489m – Imlil 1740m- Marrakech.

After an early breakfast, you will start walking uphill to Tizi Mzik pass which is situated at an altitude of 2489m from where you will have breathtaking view over Imlil valley. After a short break on the pass, you will continue downhill to Imlil valley where you will have lunch before transfer back to Marrakech. Around 5h walk + 1h30 drive.

Starting Point: Imlil
Your journey begins in the picturesque village of Aroumd, nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Here, you’ll meet your experienced local guide in the morning who will lead you through the rugged terrain and share fascinating insights into Berber culture and traditions along the way.

Scenic Trail
As you embark on the trail towards Tizi Mzik, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of verdant valleys, terraced fields, and traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. Tizi Mzik Pass
The highlight of the trek is reaching the Tizi Mzik Pass, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,489 meters (8,167 feet). As you ascend to the pass, you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas of snow-capped peaks, rugged cliffs, and expansive valleys stretching as far as the eye can see. Take a moment to soak in the tranquility of this pristine mountain landscape and capture unforgettable memories with your camera.

Berber Hospitality
